at 23 lovelane, penang. technically not a picture from the window, but of the lovely shophouse-turned-boutique-hotel windows, as well as the man in the cage.
a rainy end to the dragon year.
what an interesting interpretation. thanks joshua!
"Is all that whitewashed walls and glass panels, what we are all working for?
Taken on the 10th of June, when it was eight minutes shy of six o’clock in the evening.”
this is definitely not homework, don’t worry about any deadlines. and melvin, i will miss teaching in the classroom. who will laugh at my jokes now?
"Hello Miss Yeo! This is Jack from 3S1. I stumbled upon your tumblr and found that it was quite meaningful to take a look outside my window for a change. I manage to catch this picture with my really lousy nokia phone-camera at around 1am at night. I find the picture especially telling and special, as the lights of the HDB block beside my own began to flicker off as time passes by into really early morning. Hope you enjoy it!"
Thanks Jack, and you guys should be getting more rest (and not less) during the holidays!
the view from art deli, siem reap, dec 2011.
there’s a siem reap for the expats/tourists, and there’s a siem reap for the locals.
breathing new life into what used to be a kopitiam chair. it will be used to admire the (concrete jungle) view from our new place.
the first vintage piece, which had the privilege of sharing the backseat of the cab with dw, to arrive at the new home.
i’m taking many (blind) leaps of faith in 2012.
and that includes moving to an area we’re totally unfamiliar with, to a disturbingly alien view.
also, today might have been my last day teaching in the classroom. i’m leaving behind these views of students:
- peering nervously at their test papers (oh the joy)
- grinning cheekily at each other (thinking that i might not have caught on to their little acts of mischief)
- struggling to keep their eyelids open (which is quite hilarious really)
- darting, shifty eyes that flicker repeatedly from left to right in an attempt to pull the wool over my eyes (don’t you guys ever learn not to lie)
